Remote control cars come in various sizes, scaled in proportion to the original vehicles.
There are literally hundreds of RC cars available and the array and sizes of the various models can be confusing.
With so many different options, models and manufacturers and products available, just knowing where to start can be daunting.
Models can be a small as the ‘micro’ and moving to the top of the scale is the 1/5th range which are quite literally smaller versions of the originals, usually running on the same type of fuel as the actual vehicle; namely petrol and running up to 23cc, 2 stroke engines (that’s half the size of those little mopeds you see people riding about on to give you an idea of their power).
Many are available pre-built and ready to go, whilst for those that would like to build their own, there are plenty of models out there which you can assemble yourself.
Again, there are even suppliers out there able to offer personalisation kits for your RC car if you prefer, enabling you to customise it making it totally unique.
If you are a speed junkie, then the nitro RC cars will probably be your preferred choice but don’t just jump straight in. There is a lot of hand and eye coordination required to manage these speed machines and they can in fact be quite dangerous if not handled properly, potentially damaging other people’s property.
The best advice is to do a little research, work out what you want to do, decide whether you want to race the car or simply use it for pleasure and have a chat with a specialist supplier.
