Get the set up right and you will see lap times improve

Most of us will never get opportunity to race real cars seriously because of the financial commitment and time needed to be put into it.

But that doesn’t mean we can’t race these RC cars as if they are the real thing.

For the youngsters, they can learn how a car reacts to different set ups ready for when they are old enough to drive the real thing.

Playing around with set ups will help you learn how the suspension, drive shafts and tyres can affect the way the car performs. Different set ups will result in the car performing better in certain conditions.

For example, setting toe-in or toe-out will alter cornering, acceleration and straight line speeds. Firm suspension will help with turning, just like in a real car.

Quality drive shafts will also help you maintain better speed around the corners while drastically reducing wheel chatter. The Hot Bodies DCJ drive shaft breaks the single pivot point into two pivot points resulting in less drag and shallower shaft angles during sharp turning making your car easier to drive.

It is unlikely that you will get it right first time, but with a little patience and experimentation, you will find your lap times and speed around your local tracks improving.
