Creating that toolbox with more than just the basics

Keen hobbyists will have a basic tool kit but a time will probably come when you feel confident enough to get a few extra tools to enable you to take repairs to the next level.

This will particularly aid you if you purchase some easier-to-use cordless tools, some RC-specific items and other extras that help simplify the more common and some of the less common repairs and troubleshooting tasks.

In addition to the basic tools you should consider adding:

A car stand – used to lift your RC up off the workbench providing easier access to all the parts.

A Fuel Bottle – much better than carrying a gallon size can of nitro fuel around with you.

A Stanley Knife or hobby knife – offers dozens of uses from trimming tyre wells or other areas of your RC body to cutting tubing, wires, and plastic straps.

Cordless tools - one of those multi-function tools is useful. You may not realise it at first but you will find it extremely useful for cleaning, cutting, drilling, shaping, and sanding.

A digital multi-meter for your batteries - an all-around testing tool will help identify poor battery performance and identify faulty electronic circuitry.

These items will not take up too much space in your workshop or car boot.
